Whip up a comforting Goulash by combining our Slow Cooked Diced Beef with tender onions, garlic, paprika, and a rich tomato base, all simmered in beef stock and finished with a creamy sour cream.

Ingredients

Serves
6
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 1kg B Strong Slow Cooked Diced Beef
  • 45g plain flour
  • 1.5 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 green capsicum deseeded and thinly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum deseeded and thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp paprika
  • 3 large tomatoes, diced
  • 900ml beef stock
  • 3 tbsp parsley leaves
  • 240ml sour cream

Instructions

  1. Heat 4 tbsp of the olive oil in a heavy-based non-stick saucepan. Sprinkle beef pieces with plain flour and brown well making sure to be gentle when stirring (can do in batches if pan is overcrowded). Set the browned meat aside.
  2. Add in the remaining oil, followed by thinly sliced  onion, finely chopped garlic cloves, green pepper and red pepper, both finely sliced. Fry until softened, around 5-10 mins.
  3. Add tomato paste and paprika. Cook, stirring, for 2 mins.
  4. Add in diced tomatoes and beef stock. Cover and cook it on the stove on a gentle heat for about 30 min. Remove lid, add browned beef and simmer for another 30mins.
  5. Season well with salt and freshly ground pepper and stir in soured cream. Sprinkle over flat-leaf parsley leaves and serve.
