Light, crunchy, and packed with flavour, this Popcorn Chicken is made using Harvest B Chicken Style Diced Plant Protein, coated in a bold Southern-style seasoning for the perfect crispy bite. Deep fry for an ultra-crunchy finish or air fry for a lighter take—either way, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Serve with your favourite dipping sauce for the ultimate snack!

  • 250g Chicken Style Diced Plant Protein
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Southern Fried Coating

  • 100g paprika or similar spiced crisps
  • 4 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine Southern Fried Coating ingredients.
  2. Coat the hydrated chicken style Pieces evenly with salt and pepper
  3. Dip each piece into the coating ensuring thorough coating
  4. Heat oil to 180℃
  5. Deep fry the coated chicken style Pieces for approximately 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and extra crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan to maintain the oil temperature.

Air Frying (Alternative):

  1. Preheat the air fryer.
  2. Place coated pieces in a single layer, ensuring to not overcrowd the pan.
  3. Spray with oil and air fry for 12 minutes, turning the pieces at 6 minutes.

Serve with your favourite sauces, such as mayonnaise or hot sauce.
